Ideal for sanding contours and uneven surfaces as they conform well to intricate shapes thanks to the flap construction. The product structure; abrasive flaps anchored by a resin core at the centre, provides great flexibility and very smooth surface finish. A consistent finish is always maintained due to the uniform cut rate, especially on aluminum and stainless steel parts where they can be used for blending, deburring, finishing applications in metal fabrication, welding and polishing. Flange mounted flap wheels perform best at a recommended speed of 38-42m/s. At this speed, the abrasive flaps stand up straight due to the centrifugal force, where only the edges are in contact with the workpiece, optimizing stock removal and surface finish whilst avoiding thermal load of the workpiece and tool wear.
